ALLOTMENT RULES
- The rent shall be paid by the third Monday of October in each year for the Dunstall Plots and during March for the Three Tree Plots.
- The Tenant shall keep the allotment free from weeds, well manured and otherwise maintain it in a proper state of cultivation and shall be responsible for cutting both sides any hedge on his allotment.
- The Tenant shall not underlet, assign or part with the possession of the allotment or any part of it.
- If Rent is not paid within a month of the due date a reminder letter will be sent. If the Rent still has not been paid within 2 weeks of the first letter, a second letter will be sent giving 7 days to pay. If payment is not received within 7 days the tenancy shall terminate.
- The Tenant shall not cause any nuisance or annoyance to the occupier of any other allotment, or obstruct any path set out by the Council for the use of occupiers of allotments.
- The Tenant shall not sell, take or carry away any mineral, gravel, sand or clay without the written consent of the Council.
- Any member of the Council shall be entitled at any time, when directed by the Council, to enter and inspect the allotment.
- The Tenant must not erect a shed or poly tunnel on the allotments without the permission of the Council. The shed specifications must not exceed 6’ x 8’ and poly tunnel no more than 8sq mtr per 10 Rod. Applications should be submitted to the Council who must approve the site of erection.
- The Tenant may not use the allotment for any use other than horticultural without permission from the Council.
- Dogs belonging to allotment holders must be kept on a lead or tethered on the allotment holders own plot.
- A maximum of 15 chickens (no other Fowl permitted) per Allotment Holder may be kept after permission has been given by the Council.
- Tenants are free to park off the road on a section of their own allotment but there are to be no hard standings.
- The allotment roadway is for access to allotments only.
- Subject to water being available on site in the future the standpipes CAN ONLY be used for filling watering cans or appropriate receptacles. Under no circumstances are they to be connected to hosepipe's.
- The Tenant can only burn organic waste produced from their own allotment. This should be dead or dried material only. The burning of any artificial substances is strictly forbidden.
