The days are starting to lengthen and I am sure some of you will be itching to get
out into the garden or allotment to start preparing for the new growing season ahead.
The IALG, which in future is to be known as “Isleham Gardeners” are planning events
for the coming months which I hope will be of interest to you.
First of all a word of thanks to all who supported our plant sale on the 7th May.
We made a total of £54.20, which, considering it was our first effort, I don’t think
was too bad.
Our next guest speaker, on 21st June, will be Ellen Carvey of Barcham Trees who will
give us advice on ‘Choosing Trees For Your Garden’. This will be held in the small
room at the Village Hall at 7.30pm. On Sunday 12th June we shall have a stall at
Fordham Car Boot Sale. Any donations to sell at the car boot can be passed to Howard
Copestake on 01638 780340.
On Saturday 2nd July we will be selling plants and garden produce at the Isleham
Village Gala. Once again any offerings to sell on our stall will be gratefully received.
Please contact Jenny Hodd 01638 780729 or Chris Maxfield 07703 336250. I hope that
by the time this edition of the Informer is issued we shall have had some rain and
all your lawns are green, your flowerbeds a riot of colour and your vegetables are
flourishing.
